Who is

Qui-Gon Jinn?

Qui-Gon Jinn was one of the wisest Jedi Masters in the Star Wars saga. Qui-Gon Jinn trained under Jedi Master Count Dooku during the final years of the Galactic Republic.
During a mission to Tatooine, Qui-Gon discovered Anakin Skywalker on dusty Tatooine in the course of a mission. Qui-Gon sensed the boy’s overwhelming potential with the Force immediately and named him the Chosen One. Even though the Jedi Council was skeptical, he continued to insist on Anakin’s training.
Events build toward confrontation on Naboo’s power generator walls. Darth Maul ambushes them with double-bladed fury. Qui-Gon holds ground with precise Ataru technique until exhaustion hits. Maul strikes the fatal blow there.
In his final moments, Qui-Gon urged Obi-Wan to train Anakin. Later, his voice would becoming one of the first Jedi to retain his consciousness after death, later guiding Yoda and Obi-Wan through the Force. Obi-Wan took Qui-Gon’s green-bladed saber from the fight, and that legacy shaped the Jedi Order for years to come.

The Legacy Hilt

How Qui-Gon Jinn Shaped a Generation of Jedi Sabers

A Jedi's lightsaber is deeply personal — built once, carried for life. And yet Qui-Gon Jinn's influence reached beyond his own hilt entirely.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's first lightsaber, built during his years as Qui-Gon's Padawan, was deliberately modelled on his master's own minimalist design — clean lines, restrained ornamentation, a philosophy made physical. It was a young Jedi's tribute to the Master who shaped him, long before that same green-bladed saber would pass through Obi-Wan's hands to defeat Darth Maul.
Qui-Gon's minimalist hilt heavily influenced later Jedi lightsaber aesthetics, particularly the clean, functional designs seen throughout the final years of the Republic.
Our fan saber collection honours that entire chain — Qui-Gon's restraint, lived on in every hand that carried his vision forward.

Qui-Gon Jinn Lightsabers — Wisdom Carried in a Single Green Blade

Qui-Gon Jinn never needed an ornate hilt to prove his mastery. His green blade — calm, minimal, unwavering — said everything his words sometimes couldn't. At Spectra Sabers, our Qui-Gon Jinn-inspired fan saber collection honours that quiet defiance in Neopixel and RGB builds true to his philosophy. Frequently Asked Questions

Qui-Gon Jinn wielded a lightsaber with a green blade from a kyber crystal.  The emitter section was a simple emitter, made of black and silver metal hilt. He leaned heavily on it through his missions until he was killed by Darth Maul on Naboo.

After Qui-Gon Jinn was killed by Darth Maul during the Battle of Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi briefly picked up his master's lightsaber and used it during the final moments of the duel. After defeating Maul, Obi-Wan recovered his own lightsaber and Qui-Gon's weapon was returned to the Jedi Order. Although Qui-Gon's lightsaber was never seen again on screen, it remained a lasting symbol of his legacy and the Jedi philosophy he passed on to Obi-Wan and, ultimately, Anakin Skywalker.

Green lightsabers are often associated with Jedi who emphasise wisdom, diplomacy, and a deep connection to the Force, although blade color is not officially tied to Jedi rank or class.

Qui-Gon used Ataru, also known as Form IV or the Way of the Hawk-Bat. It relied on speed, agility, and Force-assisted attacks.
